When going on a journey or to a new location, there are certain things essential to your trip that you should never forget to take along with you. One of the most crucial things you need in your backpack is a map of your destination and a road map leading to your destination – the two maps have different functions.
With the aid of technology, we now have digitalized maps and assists that point us to where we are going so we do not get lost. Technology has also made it easy to find necessities like the nearest gas station, motel or hotel, police station, market, restaurant, convenience, and elsewhere.
This brings me to the road assistance app everyone should be using!
I recently discovered a new app when I was on a long road trip to Pittsburgh with my family. It is called Road Ahead and gives you an update of the road ahead of you as you drive.
I had read about it in New York Times and decided to give it a go. What I like is that when it launches, it knows where you are and tells you what kind of food (and everything else) options are at the next exit. And if any of those options have a Yelp review, it shows you that too.
We didn’t actually use any of the suggestions because we diverted over to minor roads and found something else, so I cannot accurately report on that front. However, it is a fantastic app that empowered us to know what lies beyond the interstate as we whizzed by.
It is also a great companion for anyone new to a city or a traveler. This way, you can easily navigate your way in your new locale without getting lost and find your way around all the essential places you should know.
