A picture tells a thousand words.
This phrase couldn’t be anymore accurate. Pictures tell different emotions that words alone can’t explain. There is a way of physically storing memories for years to come and they help us capture the precious moments that matter most. And for this reason, the perfect picture can only be created by the perfect camera.
The folks at Canon thought we should try out their new Canon EOS Rebel SL1, so they sent us one, and gave us another so we could have our own contest and give one super lucky reader their own. (First you have to read and look at pictures from our weekend of using it.)
Picture Perfect Camera
Let me preface this post with saying I have a photographer husband, so I’m around a lot of cameras.
I still shoot film sometimes, and I definitely shoot maybe too much on my phone. I love photography, but I love sharing information even more, so sometimes I put up a post that doesn’t have the most ideal image, but it gets the point across. So when I see blogs that have perfect imagery, I always think maybe I should get a better camera.
This camera for me, at the end of the weekend, seemed like it’s exactly that: it’s so light I can throw it in my bag, it’s not so precious that I worry about it, and it’s super easy to whip out and grab moments, from landscapes to food to life.
This was made evident during a family weekend trip that had everything. Sight seeing, lobster dinner evenings, wildlife and family portraits. It was a good way to put the camera to test and the results were nothing short of picture perfect.

Here’s the deal, we want to see your special moments. Send us in your favorite pictures, or just one, along with a title, and a caption if you like. Give us your full name, and an email address (we won’t do anything with it but use it to contact you for this one contest). If you have a website you want us to hyperlink to, give us that too.
Only send us pictures you are okay with us publishing on our site, whatever image we think is really the most outstanding will be the winner, but we will publish the images that are a good fit, throughout the coming months.
