Gifts. We all love gifts. Whether we’re the ones giving out gifts or receiving them from others, there’s no denying the happiness we feel when we are showered with gifts, or the satisfaction we get from seeing the smiles on our loved ones’ faces when they unwrap our own gifts to them.
What Makes Gifts Giving So Special?
Gifts are not given out or received every week(not that anyone wouldn’t appreciate it anyway). This is one of the reasons why it’s very special because it’s an irreplaceable part of all special occasions.
From Christmas gifts to anniversary gifts to congratulatory gifts and everyone’s favorite, birthday gifts, once there’s a special occasion, there’s sure to be a gift around the corner waiting to put a smile on the lucky recipient’s face.
Gifts are also special, not only because of what they are in itself, but also because of whom the gifts come from. A gift prize from your school for coming out as the top student cannot be as special as a gift that comes from your parents or other loved ones like your partner, and even grandparents, regardless of what’s wrapped inside the gift box.
Whether it’s the new Nintendo switch or the prettiest Barbie doll or new ballet slippers, we all love and cherish gifts that come from our loved ones. So much so that we look forward to their gifts every year.
For instance, my dad gave our daughter a silver coin for her first Christmas, and continues to do so every year. He buys her the American Eagle Silver Coin that is one ounce of silver, which the U.S. Mint puts out each year. We keep all of them in a coin book, which has become one of her most prized possessions.
