Every now and then, we all need to relax and calm our minds after going through very demanding and stressful events during the day. This applies to the casual workers, the teachers who spend practically 9 hours dealing with kids (old and young and mostly noisy), the work-all-day dad who seems to be free only on weekends and even the children deserve some rest.
At the end of the day, we all have demanding lives that require us to get as much rest as possible. There are several ways to deal with stress, as well as calm the mind, while prepping for the everyday life. Some like to kick back and spend their free time staring into the TV screen, with a bottle of beer in one hand.
Others could find their source of relaxation in the form of exercise, especially yoga, or it could even be in the form of household chores, like cleaning and laundry.
THE GIFT OF THE BOOK
One very common meditative tool is the book. Those thick covers contain white, or sometimes yellow, pages with lots of words that form a story. This story can transport the mind to a new world where the struggles of the current world don’t exist.
Good for calming down the mind, refueling the brain and gearing it up for a brand-new day. Never underestimate the power of a good book.
It could be a fictional novel, a romantic comedy themed book, a cookbook or even an unconventional cleaning book. As weird as it could get, we all have one book genre or another that really calls to us. What’s yours?
Okay, maybe calling this a meditative book is overselling it, or just plain wrong, for half of the population. But for those of you who like seeing things in order, even if you aren’t like this in your personal life, The Art of Clean Up is very calming. You can even share it as a gift.
