This spring break, we headed to Venice, where we fell in love with Aperol Spritz. We got home thinking we would introduce them to all our friends who drank Negroni as it seemed like the drink they all had while we were away.
But when we returned, they had already found some way and moved to Aperol Spritz or “Spritz”. Shocker!
Anyhoo, if you want a great drink to give us this summer, it means Aperol Spritz! It is very refreshing, not tasty, and does not contain alcohol. However, it does require having an open bottle of prosecco, which makes it an ideal drink to serve more than two guests at a time – unless you drink several shots at a time or have no problem with a bottle open for a day or more.
Here is a recipe according to the official Aperol website:
• Pour 3 ounces (3 portions) of prosecco into a glass
• Add 2 ounces (2 portions) of Aperol
• Then add an ounce of soda water to any sparkling and tasteless water
• Make this mixture over the ice and add fresh slices of orange to garnish. Orange toppings also add flavor to the mixture.
Or, on the flip side, you can just deny it as we do – fill the glass with ice, add half a glass of prosecco, Aperol glug, baking soda, and orange garnish.
Therefore! The best cocktail drink you can treat yourself and your loved ones in the summer. It has been said that “the whole internet world agrees that Aperol Spritz is good” and we could not agree on a bit.
