It’s a hot, sunny day, the temperature is hitting the high 30s, mouths are dry, thirsts looking unquenchable when you suddenly remember the tub of yogurt in the freezer. That’s a lifesaver right there. From farm to fridge, these milky, thick, and creamy desserts serve to satisfy any sweet cravings you might have while leaving you longing for more.
I was at my favorite grocery store on the East Coast, Wegman’s—and saw a yogurt I hadn’t heard of before, Noosa, so I figured I’d try it out. The next day, I was with a friend who has an extremely discerning palate, and we tried it. It wasn’t just good, it was great. Like so good, that I could have a couple of spoonfuls for breakfast or dessert, and it would be enough. Rich, creamy, not chalky at all. It’s “Aussie style” yogurt that is made in Colorado. Who knows what that exactly means, but it sounds good.
Unlike Greek or Icelandic yogurt, Noosa is not strained, so in that way, it’s similar to traditional yogurt. But since it’s made with whole milk, you get that “velvety, creamy texture” — one that Noosa improves on by infusing with honey. Sweet goodness, that sounds delicious!
It’s lightly sweetened and has that yogurt tang to it but has a thick smooth texture that is like a softer Greek yogurt. The yogurt is perfectly enjoyable on its own but there’s also fruit on the bottom for a bit of variety. So as you dig into this creamy tub of tasty yogurt, you discover its wonderful flavors and goodness waiting to burst out into your mouth.
It comes in different flavors ranging from strawberry to vanilla to chocolate and so on. Time to visit the grocery store for your tub of tummy treasure.
