When I get together with friends, it seems you can’t gather 3 of us without encountering at least five allergies (which, as a gluten-freer, I’m all about). And cooking can be a real challenge if you have to balance dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan, vegetarian, and others.
Sometimes it may seem like people with specific food allergies are banned totally from enjoying just about any recipe like those without allergies. However, while those with dietary restrictions certain need to be more cautious about what we eat; there are definitely other ways to enjoying the foods we like,
If you’re just like me, I understand what you’re going through. To make life easy for you, I bring you three allergy-friendly appetizers, all easy to make. Feel free to make it a culture eating any of the dishes on the list:
A mix of avocadoes, fresh tomatoes, fresh cilantro, lime juice, green pea, and everything healthy, you really can’t talk about healthy desserts without a thing or two about guacamole. Little wonders, this dish is on everyone’s top 3 gluten-free and diary-free appetizers list.
- Chocolate biscotti
Who says you can’t enjoy a snack of double chocolate biscotti without the gluten and the nuts? Well, I cracked this when I made it for my daughter, who has a life-threatening nut allergy. And I tell you, it’s now my family’s new guiltiest pleasure.
- Homemade crackers
Here, you have the option to give your kids a treat while keeping it healthy still. Go for the healthy and crispy thyme sea salt crackers that are egg, nut, and dairy-free or these gluten-free crackers, and you bet your kids will want no other cracker-based snack.
With just a little tweaking of the recipe, you can transform an allergy-prone meal into a healthy and allergy-friendly one.
Enjoy the feeling these recipes are bound to cause your taste buds!
