Undoubtedly, the idea of breakfast in bed is super romantic. Having bacon, eggs, toast, juice, berries, and every other side dish that makes a breakfast meal is worth it, without having to cook them yourself – bliss!
Many women would very much appreciate the romantic gesture, especially if the breakfast is well cooked. Nonetheless, the effort is what matters. But, unfortunately, some women do not see the fuss about waking up to a delicious breakfast in bed by their significant other.
A few days before last year’s Mother’s Day, I discussed with a few mothers how their spouses treated them on mother’s day and what their plans usually are. Somewhat surprisingly, one mom admitted she hated the breakfast in bed trend, and others who subscribed to her view followed suit. They complained about many things, from the menu not being their fav to the maple syrup that runs onto the sheets, which they eventually have to dry clean.
Unlike these moms who have had breakfast-in-bed woes, I, on the flips side, wouldn’t mind the gesture or the food. So this year, I had breakfast in bed, and no, it wasn’t the regular breakfast course of pancakes and waffles. Instead, I was served a delicious bowl of berries with Greek yogurt and honey with some granola. It was heavenly, I tell you, and it did some tantalizing things to my taste buds.
If you have had your breakfast in bed experience ruined for you, it’s not too late to have a fresh start. Focus on the reason behind the gesture because that is what matters. You should also tell your spouse what your favorite breakfast menu is to guide them whenever they want to pamper you with some foods while in bed.
