Since I love gluten-free foods and have a daughter who is less sensitive to nuts, I am always looking for ways to make food easier and more enjoyable for us. So I start to learn new recipes that don’t get sick or adjust my recipes to suit our health.
It is very easy to cook our food because we are confident in ingredients that do not contain allergies. Additionally, we will not have to worry so much about a restaurant that does not recognize our dietary restrictions (however, this does not mean that we do not eat whenever we can).
There are many good recipes out there if you are looking to make a gluten-free dessert or allergens like eggs or milk. Still, I have a special place in my heart for Erin McKenna’s cookbooks. Erin is the founder of the famous vegan store, BabyCakes NYC, and her two cookbooks are broken and fun. She makes baking without the use of certain ingredients that she feels are a celebration, not a necessity.
The new BabyCakes app has been released, and the whole thing is lovely. Includes recipes such as Banana Chocolate Chip Teacake; guest appearances by Mark Bittman and Kiernan Shipka (also known as Sally from Mad Men); and music from J Mascis, Bubbles, Cults, and Bleached.
If you already have BabyCakes cookbooks, or are very lucky and live near the bakery, you probably do not need this. If not, it is very difficult to resist.
The BabyCakes app costs $ 3.99 on iTunes, and I promise you won’t regret it. You can call it your world at all baking, vegan, and gluten-free recipes.
