While summer is a time to enjoy tanning, visiting the beach and other relaxation-focused activities, it’s also a time to be resourceful (hello, summer school and summer camps)!
During summer, there are so many ways to keep the activities going for you and your kids, especially those involving parents and kids working together like a slackline.
We saw this father and daughter doing a slackline in the park, and after watching them for a couple of minutes, they invited our daughter to join in. It was so much fun and so great for learning balance and focus. It’s effortless to set up in a park, between two trees, and you can do it very low, so it isn’t scary.
If you don’t mind doing this activity, here are reasons why you shouldn’t falter in your decision:
- Adjustable webbing
When slacklining with kids, you can make the webbing considerably lower to the ground for safety reasons. On the other hand, if you are an adult, you can take it higher as much as you can handle.
- It’s therapeutic
Walking on a slackline is a good healing therapy for knee injuries, muscle activation restoration, strengthening and improving the core and is generally essential to rehab therapy.
- Easy to get
The slackline set is very easy to get. Go to any fit and exercises store or online retail store like Amazon to get started on your slacklining kit or set.
- It makes you a better athlete
Slacklining improves balance, focus, and stamina, which are essential for an athlete of any sport, but most especially climbers and gymnasts.
- It’s fun
Yes, it’s a good sport, and you won’t feel bored one minute for choosing to slackline.
We’re doing this with our kids this summer. You can too. You also do not need to go to the park. Anywhere with sturdy trees will do just fine.
