The common household furniture includes the sofa, armchair and table. One in particular that truly defines a home is the table. The table is more than just a four-legged piece of furniture where you place things. Don’t worry, I’m not talking about tables with spider-like 8 legs here.
From the center table in the living room to the dinner table -well, in the dinning room of course- and even the kids’ reading table, not the foosball table though. And because these are important home interiors, it’s only natural for us to want beautify them to make the home look good and give our visitors something to adore when they visit.
Well, good news is I don’t have to go the jewelry store to get some gold and diamond crusts and fix them to the tables. Would probably even need to keep some shades for the family and visitors if this happens.
But, there’s an easier way to do this. Just add flowers. And you don’t have to place the entire orchard in the living room or the dining table. Just pick some or buy some little flowers of mixed colors and scents, place them on the center of each table and instantly, the tables in the home, especially the dinner table, become a steady attraction in your home.
I was at the restaurant Sitka and Spruce in Seattle recently and in addition to the amazing food, I was struck by the impact of these tiny arrangements, created, no doubt, by Marigold & Mint (a collaboration we featured in the May issue Martha Stewart Living). What’s even more amazing is the fact they didn’t need to go overboard with the décor. They put the beauty in simplicity.
That’s a family table décor cheat code right there and it’s quite fun and easy to do. It’s a reminder that you don’t need much to bring a little beauty to your table.
