You know those penny machines that you find in just about every tourist spot or rest area? We started to collect them on trips back when our daughter was really little, and now it’s become a ritual that we all get really excited about. If you get the souvenir book to store the coins, they don’t get lost in shuffle.

We do that too! It’s an inexpensive souvenir and they don’t take up a lot of space once you get home. Love it.
We love doing this. I like a souvenir that isn’t absurdly overpriced, huge, and useless (jumbo cups, stuffed animals, etc.). DIdn’t know there was a cute book, though. Thanks for the tip.
We found a cute book at Disney, in one of the Epcot shops. It is also great to protect the coins later–some of ours had rubbed down. Fun, clutter-free idea!
Our 5-year-old has been doing this with his father for the past couple of years and we just got a hideous book at Legoland to put them all in. We couldn’t all love it more. We even stopped on Hollywood Blvd coming home from preschool the other day to do a couple in our own backyard.
