When I first saw these mesh garment bags in the Tumi shop, I thought they were great, but way over-priced. When I saw them for much cheaper at Muji, I grabbed a few. Ever since I’ve started using them, they have become my most essential travel too: I pack all the kids stuff in one, mine in another, my husband’s in another. Sometimes I bring an empty one (they take up no spaces when folded up) for the soiled clothes. When we get to where we are going, this system allows me to quickly distribute wardrobes to their rightful owners without having to root through the whole case and undo the folding. They come in a variety of sizes.

Sometimes the link for Muji changes–so if the link doesn’t work, just go to their site, and type “mesh garment bag” into the search box. They average around $10 each.

They are the best, I use them as you describe, but also have two in my handbag, one for small toys pencils and paper, and one to collect hats, scarves and gloves when we arrive somewhere, so I am not having to empty everything on the restaurant table when it is time to go, an d I can’t find someone’s glove.
