My friend Shayla has the whole yoga-to-preschool-to-work-to-wine-night style thing down—without trying too hard. Mom to Eleanor, 5, and Ansel, 3, she’s also the designer behind LiveSavvy headbands, patterned kerchiefs for moms and little girls that miraculously won’t slip around on your head. (They’re also a great cover up for a bad hair day.) This photo was snapped after an afternoon playdate, and made me think twice about the Target sweats I had on.
Here’s what Shay had to say when I quizzed her on the way she puts herself together:
“I dress low-key most days. I’ve learned to buy a few nice solid pieces and fill in the blanks from there—it’s way more realistic. I’m usually in my yoga/work-out clothes and try to throw pieces over them to give them a boost—like a great scarf.”
