blt bacon

This weekend my husband came up with this version of a BLT. Using the inner leaves of some romaine lettuce as his base, he added in a stripe of mayo, then a thick piece of bacon, and chopped tomatoes on top. Let’s just say they went fast.


Everything looks better on a wooden cutting board and everyone loves a mini. Admittedly, I am not usually in favor of the upscale BLT—I long for toasted trashy white bread and crispy, vitamin-deficient iceberg, and will take great pains to gather low-brow ingredients in pursuit of that diner classic.
