teething toy

I just bought a letter E teething toy from this wooden toy company. I’m not a toy snob–Emilio’s last new toy was a stack of plastic measuring cups from the kitchen–but these convinced me to splurge. And then I discovered they have this toy of the month club (three months for $67), which seems like […]

If given the choice, I’ll take jolie laide over cute any day, which is why I love Hansa stuffed animals. My son has the baby emu, owl, and baby boar—they were gifts from my mother-in-law, who was inspired by the adorably ugly baby animal photos by Sharon Montrose that are hanging in his bedroom—and, though […]

Our friend Jennie forwarded this to us–her sister had seen it at a friend’s house: “This crib is the effing deal of the century! A crib that looks like Dwell Studio, that costs less than $300 and is solid! Here’s my friend’s room with two of them for her twins!” Here is a link to […]

I love these custom prints from Babywall out of Sweden. Wouldn’t they make a perfect gift for a new mom? They’re around $47, and the shipping is around $12, and they even have a suggestion for an Ikea frame that will fit the prints just right. (Of course the Swedes stick together!)

I have, in the past, done a lot of obsessive baby bedding research…and this line is far better than almost anything I’ve seen (with […]

As a follow-up to my post last week, I asked some of our favorite bloggers to tell me what they were obsessed with as new parents. Here’s what they said (and what I proceeded to add almost immediately to my amazon cart): Joanna Goddard, Cup of Jo Every parent (and doctor) I knew recommended swaddling […]

It took me a year to settle on the perfect cutting board. We’re down to two forks because I haven’t found the just-right ones to replace the mysteriously missing ones yet. Now, at around 8 months’ pregnant, with a long list of seemingly exotic new baby stuff to consider, I’ve realized I don’t have time […]

Kelly Flamos and Colin McEwen were ready to buy a giant, raw loft in a up-and-coming (read: gritty) neighborhood in Cleveland when they found out she was pregnant. So they did what any nervously expecting couple would do: They opted for a fantastic bungalow on a super family-friendly street in Lakewood–just a few blocks from […]
