I was just in the Uniqlo flagship store, and was very impressed with their kids’ selection. First of all, in case you don’t know about Uniqlo, it is a Japanese store that came to NYC several years ago, and is well done, and well priced (at any given point either Pilar or I are wearing something from Uniqlo.) Then they started carrying kids’ clothes. Now they’ve opened up more stores, and finally, just in the last couple of months, you can buy from them online. But since it’s hard to navigate without having sight-unseen, I thought I’d put my picks up here. They also have some great things in for women right now, namely their French linen button downs (albeit best for women who are probably a C cup and lower–it’s a slender fit), and their scarves (see above), which are $12.90, and have a palette and feel not unlike the very expensive ones I’ve seen in fancy boutiques for three figures. I’ll be back at Uniqlo soon just for me, and will report back after that visit.
Unisex t-shirts in great colors, that are soft, and wash well. ($8)
I loved this windbreaker, again, unisex. (On sale for $30)
This is a rainjacket that folds up into this little bag and you can always have it with you. ($20)
A sweatshirt dress for girls in an indigo color, that my daughter wears all the time. ($10)
Very cute printed windbreakers for girls. ($30)
The lightweight less than a puffer but certainly warm jacket (it’s on sale for $25), that my daughter wears everyday–either under a warmer coat, or just on its own, if it’s above 50 degrees. Comes in a gazillion colors, so works for both boys and girls, and also has a version with a hood.
Scarves that I mentioned…great colors…
