We ran into Larissa–the fashion market director at Self magazine and mother of 5-year-old Van—in New York City on one of the coldest days of the year.
What she’s wearing here: “My boots are from my friend Anna’s shop, Nest, in Narrowsburg, NY. They’re my winter staple: They make everything instantly more fun, and certainly more warm. I live in these Rag+Bone jeans. They cost a bit more, but they’re the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn. They’re skinny, but not too skinny; they have stretch with just enough give; and I like that when I’m running around with my son, they don’t give me plumber butt. My husband, who is way cooler than I am, bought me this coat from Dunderdon. The scarf is one that I got probably a decade ago from Louis Vuitton—a gift that they gave to all the editors. I love a long scarf. It feels dramatic and a little Ali McGraw. My oversize tote is from Steven Alan. It’s simple, fits everything, and I love that I can throw it in the wash–leather straps and all. I wear this hat from Club Monaco every day.”
Weekend uniform: “A pair of stretchy jeans (it’s all about pants since it’s all about comfort), a great flat boot, and a surfer t-shirt (I collect them) under a great sweater. Even if no one ever sees my t-shirt, it makes me feel a little bit cooler, and not so mom-ish.”
