gap dvf

My niece Poppy had the cutest leggings on the other day, which reminded me of my favorite Scalamandre wallpaper. They are the new DVF collaboration with Gap, and they’re $20. On their site, they make it out to be that the line is going fast, but I remember last year it was bananas how much inventory there was, and how cheap it went. We got a swimsuit for $2. I’m kicking myself I didn’t buy more in the next year’s sizes. But back to the leggings, with the print zig-zagging across them as they do, these can get filthy and still look presentable.

I am wondering if these were made in Bangladesh? It would be great if your fashion posts also addressed fair trade issues related to clothing (working conditions, pay, child labor, etc). Cheap clothes ($20 leggings and $2 swimsuits) that harm workers aren’t worth it! We all need to realize the consequences of our buying habits, not just for our wallets, but for people’s safety and dignity.

Just ordered them–thanks for the tip. I would wear them in my size!
