tights

Ever since I was a little kid taking ballet class, I have been very picky about my tights. Nothing worse then saggy, scratchy tights that run at the smallest scratch. I have continued taking ballet for exercise and over the years, have tested out many pairs of black tights. My years of research have taught me that tights for dancers are better (dancers don’t mess around with their tights!) and i have found the perfect pair by Capezio.  They are a solid opaque black that is soft, rarely snags and never fades. I have four pairs that see more office time then ballet class and at $12, they are a bargain.

It’s true! Capezio and Danskin also make the best leggings. Perfect weight, take frequent washings like a champ (never fade, never pill) and always stay perfectly shaped. I’ve had mine for nearly 10 years and they just won’t die.

I agree 100%! As a mom who was a dancer most of her childhood, ballet tights are NO Joke. My daughter who is 4.5yrs old goes through tights like paper napkins until I realized the ones she always prefers are her ballet tights.
I bought them in all colors and she loves them as they feel better because they don’t slide down and have a slight sheen and I love them because she doesn’t fight to wear them. They are so much more durable and can make it through many more washes. Any brand will do – but these are my favorite and they are quite inexpensive.

Also, she has a few pairs of the ones you have in the photo with the hole (fyi: for non-dancers, that’s so dancers can have easy access to tape up their feet/toes for pointe shoes) and she loves those too b/c she feels like an older dancer and likes to pull them up to wear footless.

    Fabulous post!
