I love skinny jeans on little boys as much as the next mom, but there’s something classically kid, in my mind, about going with a slightly wider leg and a looser fit. I especially like the idea of my 4 year old beating up a pair of carpenter or painter’s pants. These “shop pants” from Crewcuts (above) come with paint splatters but I can’t rationalize $60 for preschooler jeans no matter how hard I try — or how much I love them.
Instead I ordered this pair from the Gap during one of their many 30% off sales. They arrived in the mail today and are perfect. Pockets galore and just the right cut. And, as much as I love the Crewcuts version, I kind of like that my son will have a chance to add his own paint splatters.
