Last year my son changed his mind three times before deciding on being a mummy for Halloween. I did some internet research, which yielded all kinds of tea-stained muslin costumes. I went to the fabric store in pursuit of said muslin and mentally prepared myself for a mess of tea bags. I found instead very cheap fabric gauzy fabric that was unbleached, and therefore exactly the right shade of mummy. I bought six yards just to be safe, but didn’t use all of it. Just before we set out to go trick-or-treating, we began wrapping my son the the fabric from head to toe. You can cover the torso and legs with a continuous length. We wrapped head and boots separately. We tucked the ends into the wrapped fabric and knotted it onto itself. Easiest costume ever.
