Kid DIY

Fold regular art sketch-pad paper in half and wrap a piece of cardboard around it

My husband is the button-sewer, hole mender, not to mention Martha-grade stain-remover, in our house. (I still never know when enough over and under is sufficient to secure a button). I am in awe when he repurposes one of his many homemaking crafts into superdad art: In this case, he MacGyvered a “hardback” book out of one of my son’s original illustrated stories by adhering a cardboard cover to our son’s short novella with a few stitches.

  1. I love this! I’ve always admired the Moleskine journals for the charming threading down the spine. Thanks for sharing how I can turn my son’s drawings into a lovely handmade book of our own.
