We started storing our beach findings in jelly jars–nautilus shells in one jar, crab exoskeletons in another, etc. It’s a tidy way to contain collections and if you use the same kind of jar for all specimens, the uniformity looks great on a shelf. The bird skull stays out on the mantle!

We use clean peanut butter jars. Not quite as attractive, but shatterproof, for when the rock collection goes tumbling down.
I use ball jars for all of my office and craft supplies too. It makes them look pretty in my office.
