Gifts We Love

After years of tinkering with the grind, the tamp, the temperamental nature of an espresso maker, we finally broke down and bought the Nespresso U ($199), though all models produce the same results. Not only does it give you a perfect espresso every time (that elusive crema!), but its minimal footprint means you can keep other small appliances out on the counter. And while the Nespresso uses pods (perfectly packed shots designed especially for their machines), which means no mess because they go directly in the machine sealed, the down side is that  you need to keep on hand (easy to order) and recycle.
