I discovered coffee milk on a trip to Rhode Island last year…it’s actually their state drink! Basically, it’s a coffee syrup with lots of sugar in it, that you add to milk. There are all different kinds you can buy, but I think the best comes from Dave’s, a small craft coffee roaster and cafe, that doesn’t use high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors, and they cold brew the coffee that’s in the syrup. I bought some when we were there, but waited til the weather got warm to break it out. You just add ice to a glass, fill it up with milk, and a couple of spoonfuls of the syrup—an easy afternoon coffee/sugar break. It’s also the kind of thing that would make for a great host gift. It’s $11, and they sell it online.

I just saw this at a new local store (on the West Coast) and wondered what wonderful uses it had. Will have to try!
