Our friend Chris threw his wife a birthday dinner party for six last weekend. This is not something he feels super comfortable doing. But he kept it simple, and it was perfect. Steaks on the grill, a take on a Cobb salad that he had plated before guests arrived, and dressed right before we sat down. I especially loved how he took the mixed bag of ice creams that he had bought, and filled a serving bowl with little scoops, so each guest could help themselves. It reminded me of the Curious George at the Ice Cream Store book–super cute presentation.
