When it comes to having people over, it’s easy to get into a rut of serving the same cheese plate, or whatever it is that you’re into. Personally, I’m perplexed just by what cheese should go together. But this antipasti plate, served by my friend Liana’s mom, is a thing of beauty. She takes a huge cutting board, a couple of banana leaves, some dried and fresh figs, and serves it with an assortment of cured meats. The presentation is fantastic—I feel like I need to just stare at it and maybe I can absorb how to copy it.
