1st day

We figured, as much as we want to suspend the start of school (more for us, because it means summer is over, for us–we’re actually started getting excited for them to go back to school around mid-August), we can’t ignore it anymore. So here’s our list of some great posts we’ve found, that we’ll be looking at on, say, September 1. (And as always, if you have any great ideas you want to send our way, or other links we should be including, please do.)

One Hungry Mama: Brilliant and comprehensive, everything from the best nut butters to love notes to gear to recipes.

Time Out New York Kids: A roundup of clever lunch ideas from some of the best chef/parents in the city.

Dinner a Love Story: If you didn’t read Jenny’s letter of agreement regarding lunch duty responsibility, it’s a must.

Martha Stewart Living: Since we work there, we know that many of the food editors are moms! Great for us–they share what they do at home on their blog, The Family Room.

Cool Mom Picks: For any inspired lunch accessory, this is a ‘must bookmark’ post.

Hapa Bento: We love a bento box–they’re so easy to make lunch for the kids and us at the same time. This back-to-school post is fantastic.

    Just saw this one, too:

I so wish I could make cute bento box lunches for my kids but for some reason I can’t seem to pull it off. I did get one cute ideas from a bento box cookbook that goes otherwise unused: use a bit of food coloring when making rice (let your kid pick the color) to make rice a bit less boring. Um. That’s all I’ve got.
