There’s a great soccer store in Brooklyn called Upper 90, which, in addition to carrying great shoes and international gear you can’t find anywhere else, has a half-size indoor soccer field for clinics and birthday parties. We went to our son’s best friend’s 9th birthday party there last weekend and were so impressed by the efficiency and fun. The enthusiastic and skilled instructor ran warm-up drills as well as refereed (and coached) a game. It was a drop-off, but parents could kick back on the sidelines and watch the game. There was a nice set-up for pizza and cake. Perfect form of outsourced party! Let us know of similar indoor facilities (this is obviously harder for those of us with cold winters) around the country. We’ll make a list and post it again.

A lot of gyms have “community rooms” and will host parties that include activity, as well as the cake etc.

We are having our daughter’s party at our gym this weekend and staff of the gym is planning activities for the kids and I am bringing the food and decorations.

ClimbMax in Asheville NC has some wonderful, enthusiastic, energetic people who’ll help kids climb the walls! The wall on the exterior of their building allows kids to climb for a live audience of passersby too.

I’m glad I found this! My boy is turning two in november and I was just mentioning to my husband how the cold weather makes it a bit more complicated to plan something! I love the soccer place, I’m going to look into it!
