At Home

I am a big fan of archiving…from saving shells from each trip and putting them into little boxes, to travel journals, to pressing flowers…and I actually think that flower pressing is pretty underrated as an activity to do with your kid. It couldn’t be simpler…from the dandelion your kid picks for you that you know will die in a vase, to a flower from a special delivery/occasion (I have a rose pressed from my wedding bouquet) to a flower that is picked on a vacation. You can find flower presses both big (like this one) and small (travel size and light-weight)…and I just put the pressed flowers in a journal, and tape them up. It isn’t a proper way to do it, but I still have flowers I pressed from 25 years ago that haven’t crumbled or been compromised.
